QQI Certificate in Multimedia Production (5M2146) – NFQ Level 5
This course is designed to equip students with the specialist skills to design and develop industry-standard multimedia content, including digital graphics and illustrations, websites, animations and video games. This course is particularly suited to those who have an interest in computer graphics and web-based multimedia. Successful students will develop a creative flair for developing multimedia-rich digital content, as well as the software design, project management and general computer skills necessary for future success in this fast-changing environment.
Graduates of this course will be well placed to avail of the increasing number of employment opportunities that are arising in this rapidly expanding industry. The Forfás report on the Future Skills Requirements of the International Digital Media Industry: Implications for Ireland indicated the potential of this sector:
“As high-bandwidth technologies become increasingly pervasive around the globe, they will fuel an insatiable demand for high quality content … This content will span entertainment, information, education and business applications, as well as novel applications that we cannot even envisage at present. Consequently there are huge opportunities for a country which can position itself at the nexus of the creative arts and digital technology.”

What our Graduates say about the course
“I started in DCU with many advantages, thanks to my time in Ballsbridge College where I learnt a lot about time management, assignment writing, study skills and self- directed independent learning. Ballsbridge College provided me with a friendly supportive positive learning environment in which to develop my multimedia skills and knowledge and prepare me for further study. I had gained a good grounding and experience of many of the modules on the degree programme; I had acquired an extra layer of maturity, having completed the PLC course and I knew what was expected from me as a third level student.”
Daniel Rice Murphy, Web Authoring and Multimedia graduate 2016, studying Multimedia, DCU
“I loved my time at Ballsbridge College. I benefited from the course both professionally and personally. I am very proud of the results that I achieved. I believe that I could not have done it without the amazing support of the teachers at College. They were very reassuring and helpful whenever I struggled to understand something on the course. I learnt a lot of skills that will definitely benefit me in the future. I am very thankful for this invaluable experience and I would add that if you are looking for an inspiring place to continue your education I strongly recommend attending Ballsbridge College. Thank you for the wonderful support!”
