Ballsbridge College of Further Education is one of the Further Education Colleges operating under the auspices of the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee (CDVEC). The City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee is the local education authority for Dublin City and its inner suburbs.
The daytime courses in Ballsbridge College are certified by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) which has been set up by the Department of Education and Science to nationally certify courses.
FETAC courses have been placed within the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) which was launched in 2003. The NFQ through its ten levels, provides a means of comparing and contrasting national and international education and training qualifications.
The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland was established in 2001 with the objective of establishing and maintaining a framework of qualifications for the development, recognition and award of qualifications in the State.
The Department of Education and Science fund all the FETAC-certified courses in Ballsbridge College with the assistance of the European Social Fund through the National Development Plan.
