Foundation ECDL - European Computer Driving Licence - teaches the basics of computers to beginners who are considering a progression to our European Computer Driving Licence course. It ensures that students are able to gain the maximum benefit from the ECDL course which will next be available in September 2008.

Internet & Email for Beginners The most basic computer courses, like Internet and Email for Beginners, are for those with absolutely no previous knowledge. Learn how to surf the Web and send and receive email.

Or paid someone a fortune to fix your computer when you had a sneaking suspicion that it was only something simple? This course will help you to avoid these situations, showing you how to do simple maintenance on your PC, upgrade your software and protect yourself against viruses and breaches of security.

Digital Photography for Beginners covers both the technical side of new digital photographic equipment and programs, as well as the fundamentals of photography: composition, selection of suitable subjects, lighting, etc. A hands-on approach, working closely with the tutor, ensures that students have the opportunity to learn far more than if they were working alone with a manual. Students should bring their own camera to classes. It is essential that students have a good working knowledge of computers.

Digital Photography - Continuation is for students who wish to build on what they have already learned on our Beginners' Digital Photography course. It is also suitable for anyone who has mastered the basics of digital photography. Students should bring their own camera to classes. It is essential that students have a good working knowledge of computers.

Photoshop Creative Suite 2 This hands-on course enables students to explore the full range of possibilities that this digital image manipulation graphics program allows, including editing or retouching photos. A working knowledge of digital photography is essential.

Enrolment for Evening Courses

Personal Enrolment for Evening Courses is on:
Monday 14, Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 January 2008 from 6.00 to 7.30pm.
Cash, cheque, Credit Cards or Laser Cards may be used to pay fees on these evenings.

Fee Waivers: A small fund is available to help those who have difficulty attending a course due to the course fees. Applications for fee waivers must be made to the Principal whose decision is final.

Fees are payable in advance and are not transferable to another student. Cheques should be made payable to City of Dublin VEC. Please write your name and address and current Banker's Card number on the back of the cheque.

Refund of Fees: No refund of fees can be made except where a course does not form.

Rules and Regulations: All enrolments are subject to the rules and regulations of CDVEC, a copy of which is available from the Principal. A copy is also on display in the College foyer.

Class Calendar: Classes start the week beginning Monday 21 January 2008 and end the week beginning Monday 14 April 2008.

Mid-term: The College is closed for mid-term from Monday 11 February to Friday 15 February 2008 (inclusive).

Easter: The College is closed for Easter from Monday 17 March to Friday 28 March 2008 (inclusive).
